Project Partners - Sponsors and Collaborators

Ascension Health and its Genesee county Health Ministry, Genesys Health Systems, are the main catalysts for Enterprising Health, which is core to both organizations’ mission to improve the health of the communities they serve with particular attention to those who are poor and vulnerable. Although there is no expectation that Enterprising Health will favor Genesys over any other healthcare providers in the Flint community, Ascension Health is expecting to take process learnings and business models to help other communities they serve.

As Enterprising Health moves forward, the project will draw in additional partners to take part in and benefit from implementing the BoP Protocol in Flint, however a description of current project partners are below:

• Enterprise for a Sustainable World - Enterprise for a Sustainable World (ESW) is a not-for-profit organization dedicated to addressing today’s most pressing social and environmental problems through a new, more inclusive form of capitalism: Sustainable Enterprise. Based in Ann Arbor, MI and led by Base of the Pyramid (BoP) pioneers Stuart Hart and Patrick Donohue, ESW has managed and advised projects in the the U.S., Brazil, Mexico, India, Kenya, and the Philippines. • Health Access - the mission of Health Access is to improve access to quality health care for uninsured and underinsured residents of Genesee County. Health Access is a community partnership with Center for Civil Justice, Genesee County Free Medical Clinic, Genesee County Health Department, Genesee Health Plan, Genesee-Lapeer Chapter American Red Cross, Genesys Health System, Greater Flint Health Coalition, Hamilton Community Health Network, HealthPlus of Michigan, Hurley Medical Center and McLaren Regional Medical Center.
